Unfortunately, I see signs and symptoms of teen drug use in Family practice. It causes so many repercussions that can last a lifetime. One of the biggest ones is the loss of trust between a child and a parent. Once it is figured out that your child is using drugs, you will have a serious issue with being able to trust that person again. Even if they want to start over, it will be difficult for you to tell if they really mean it. This can cause hard feelings on both parts. It's important that you use a professional to help you through the situation. I often tell my patients that it is a two way street and that it will be a long hard road to recover from. But..it CAN be done!
