I just heard on the news that the Red Cross is being fined around 4 million dollars for not asking proper screening questions of potential donors. They state that there have been no adverse medical events. Evidently, this isn't the first time the American Red Cross has had this type of trouble.
Sit back and watch the amount of lawsuits if someone gets AIDS or Hepatitis from a blood transfusion. We all know that the blood is screened as much as possible, but it will be harder to convince patients to receive blood with this in the news.
SIGH!!
