I've been an NP for 2 years, and I work with the ugliest bunch of nurses, a horrible NP peer that is a bully and condescending, and physicians that hardly speak to me. I feel so unhappy and I'm thinking of quitting Healthcare altogether. No one is happy - nurses, my attending doc's, patients, specialists I call for consults, and ESPECIALLY hospital medicine. I used to love nursing; now I just want to vomit when I get up in the morning to go to work. The ER nurse in new tells me to suck it the f*** up, but I can't ignore my complete burnout anymore. I don't know how to fix this....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10954031.post-4613973495837600802015-11-25T22:05:00.829-05:002015-11-25T22:05:00.829-05:00I envy you opening your own practice. I've been a nurse practitioner for over 13 years and have worked in a variety of settings. What I disliked most about working for others was the lack of control over who I saw and how much time I spent with them. Often, I would get to work and find out a physician or other provider had called in sick and an addition 8-12 patients had been added to my schedule! I don't have this problem now. I also don't make that 6 figure salary anymore......the trade off was worth it!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04490026906674604122noreply@blogger.com
