Kim over at Emergiblog wrote probably the best reasons for being a nurse that I can think of. Please go over and check it out! It's worth printing out and putting up on the wall at the new clinic that I'm going to help open the first week of Jan.
I'm so excited! The clinic is almost ready to open and I signed a three year contract to work with the company. Everyone has been so nice!
I did a little pediatric stint again to get some refresher and caught a nice cold. I can sympathize with Kim there as well.

Working On New Hire Paperwork For A Nurse Practitioner Job!
Hello to all! I'm working on my new hire paperwork for a nurse practitioner position about 30 minutes from where I live. It looks very promising and just may have been where I was supposed to be all along.
Personal notes: If you remember, my mom had a quadruple bypass done three years ago and now one of the bypasses has completely collapsed and another is in danger of it also. She's not feeling well on the new meds and is awaiting news of whether she's a surgical candidate.
Good news! We are going to be Grandparents in April of a baby boy! Our daughter who miscarried earlier in the year is 22 weeks and going strong. The ultrasound showed a boy without a doubt. It still takes some getting used to but she's been married for almost 1 1/2 years now. I had asked her to at least let me make it to 40 and she did barely.
I'll keep everyone posted!

Your Favorite Nurse Practitioner Is On The Hunt For A Job Again..
Well, here I go again. I was working in a rural health clinic locally until today. No, I wasn't fired. The clinic is closing down. The doctor that opened the clinic got another job that offers better benefits so he decided to work there full time and close the place. ARGH!! I really enjoyed working there and had a lot of autonomy. The office girls were really good and we all worked well together. I would have stayed there for a long time if this hadn't happened.
The good news is that I have two interviews pending this coming week. I will update as soon as I know something. This is really aggravating because I have usually been somewhere for at least five years. I don't like change but I guess it's happening for a reason.
Just wish I knew what it was....
